On Sunday 19 May, children and youngsters take centre stage at LABIOMISTA! During ‘Day of the Cosmogolem - Dream Garden’, Koen Vanmechelen's 4m giant brings creativity, play and wonder to the 24-hectare park.

Around the world, the Cosmogolem helps children grow and flourish by letting them play and dream. On 19 May, he invites you and your family to LABIOMISTA's ‘Dream Garden’ for a surprising programme filled with free activities!

What's on the programme?

Artist Koen Vanmechelen, together with Theatre Froefroe, creates an enchanted puppet show in which his well-known characters come to life. Follow ‘The Walking Egg’ and Cosmogolem on an adventurous journey along surprising landscapes and colourful animals. You can also get hands-on in various workshops; make your own mini-cosmogolem, crafts from natural materials or happy stones. Do you prefer to take a moment to relax? Then let yourself be carried away by the dream stories of our master storytellers.

Additionally, a Ranger of the Hoge Kempen National Park takes mini adventurers on a walk to discover the diversity of plants and animals. From zebra to ant, Washingtonia Robusta to dandelion, from great tit to toucan; let yourself be surprised by the rich diversity of our planet and discover the ancient stories and cultures carried by the animals and plants on LABIOMISTA. At the end of the trip, you can call yourself a full-fledged ‘Junior Ranger’!

Need a breather after all these activities? Then curl up on our cosy blankets at the Cosmogolem Square. Don't forget to bring your own picnic, or dive into the neighbourhood or Nomadland in search of local delicacies.

Day of Cosmogolem is from 2pm to 5pm, although the park is continuously open from 10am to 7pm.

All activities are free of chargeFree entrance for children/young people (up to 18) and Genk residents

Parents from outside of Genk can buy an entrance ticket online or at the reception desk on the day itself. The proceeds from this day will support the international operations of the Cosmogolem vzw and the local Genk charity Speel'Wij from Campus O3 in KIOSK Nieuwe Kempen.
